Foundation Board Members Honored by ViPs (Volunteers in Public Schools)

Mr. Antony Hobbs, a Vice Principal at Little Rock Central High School, was awarded a 2015 Stellar Employee Volunteer award. Mr. Muskie Harris was honored as a member of the organization, 100 Black Men of Greater Little Rock, with a 2015 Community School Volunteer award, by ViPs (Volunteers in Public Schools) on April 21, 2015.

At the Tiger Foundation’s second Annual Meeting in December 2014, the following persons were elected to serve as officers of the board: Clarke Tucker, Chairman; Byron Freeland, President; Darrin Williams, Treasurer; and Tonya Hooks, Secretary. Mobile Laptop Computer Labs

Improving technology at Little Rock Central High School is the greatest academic need at this time. More mobile laptop computer labs are needed to serve students on a more frequent and regular basis. Donations of any size designated for computers are welcome at all times.

Welcome Home Concert

The date for the welcome home concert for the 1927 Steinway & Sons grand piano currently being restored by the Tiger Foundation is Sunday, September 27, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the school auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public and all are welcome. Plans are to have four performances on the program for the welcome concert. We plan to showcase the variety of music that has been played on the Steinway

Replacing the Main Stage Curtain

The Tiger Foundation’s latest arts project is replacing the main stage curtain in the Little Rock Central High School auditorium. The cost of the curtain, hardware, and installation is roughly $30,000.00. Donations of any size are welcome. We expect to place our order for the new curtain this spring and to have it installed before the start of the 2015–2016 school year.
